You can pack so much goodness into a brekkie smoothie, it’s mind-blowing. I mean, who wants to eat a handful of spinach first thing in the morning, but add it into a smoothie and you won’t even know it’s there. And there you are, casually reaping all the rewards. What I’m really saying is, this Brain-boosting Blueberry Smoothie is an easy, nutrient-dense, and delicious way to start your day. A great way to set your day up for success.

Blueberries are packed with antioxidants and they are choc-full of goodies that work to boost your memory. Research studies show that in just 12 weeks of consistent blueberry munching our brains show a noted improvement in memory and mood. And, let’s not forget, the blueberry is a tasty thing.

Frozen blueberries are great in smoothies and are often the most cost-effective way of buying blueberries. It gives your smoothy a delish crisp, refreshing feel.

Brain-Boosting Blueberry Smoothie Ingredients:

Blueberries in a bowl
  • ½ banana (Frozen is always nice, especially in summer)
  • Handful of spinach
  • ¼ cup frozen zucchini
  • ¾ cup frozen blueberries
  •  Pinch of ground cinnamon 
  •  ½ tbs sunflower seeds
  • 2tsp almond butter
  • ½ tbs linseeds
  • ½ tbs hemp hearts
  • 2 walnuts
  • 1 brazil nut
  • ½ tbs pumpkin seeds
  • 3/4th cup water or milk of choice

Method:

Add everything to the blender and blend. Always put the ‘soft’ or unfrozen ingredients near the blade and the harder frozen stuff away from the blades. Just makes it easier on your blender.
