We’re snackers, like the hobbits in Lord of the Rings… we need our breakfast, second breakfast and Elevenses (anybody else remember this from the movie…?) haha well that’s us. We’ve been loving these easy budget friendly chocolate bliss balls for our mid-morning snack. No body can say no to a healthy chocolate snack right?
Some bliss balls can get real pricey when made with various nuts, these ones are budget-friendly as they use oat flour as the main ingredient. Along with lots of seeds for that extra nutritional punch.
Chocolate Bliss Balls Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2/3 of a cup steel cut oats
- 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin seeds
- 1 tablespoon flaxseeds
- 2 tablespoon raisins
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon cacao powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon almond nut butter
- 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
- 3 tablespoons warm water
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- Some desiccated coconut to roll them in at the end.
Method:
Put all the dry ingredients into a food processor or blender and give it a wizz until it resembles flour (it’s ok if there a few bigger bits)
Add all the wet ingredients and mix it all together. It should end up firm enough to gently roll in to bite sized balls. Roll them in the coconut and place them in the fridge.
Then try not polish them off in one day.
