It’s fig season! I never knew how amazingly figs went in a green breakfast smoothie until this year. There’s a fig tree in my garden that I love because yay, fresh home-grown figs, what’s not to love, but my dreams got shattered when I realised every bird and bug gets just as excited for fig season as me. Little fact, figs don’t continue to ripen once you pick them. So, it’s a race against nature to get to the figs first.
When having a smoothie for breakfast it needs to include healthy fats and protein as this will keep you energised and full.
I always use my morning smoothies as a great way to get solid nutrition in, gives me a powerhouse start to the day.
I love to add in veggies for extra fiber and energy. Nuts and seeds for both healthy fats and protein.
The below smoothie is setting your day up for success! Keep in mind that a balanced smoothie keeps the fruit content low, this keeps your blood sugar levels stable which helps prevent mindless snacking throughout the day.
Eating nutritious food gives your body the vitamins and nutrients it needs to perform at its best.
